Where's Waldo in Winnipeg?

Overview

Where’s Waldo? In Winnipeg, of course! This July, McNally Robinson Booksellers is once again partnering with Candlewick Press to bring the iconic children’s book character in the red-and-white-striped shirt and black-rimmed specs to over 12 sites throughout the city, and it’s your job to find him!

What is it?

Find Waldo Local is a free, family-friendly scavenger hunt where Waldo-seekers (kids and families) visit participating organizations around Winnipeg collecting stamps / signatures wherever they find Waldo.

How Does it Work?

Pick up a stamp card from any participating location (all locations are listed on the card) and get it stamped, signed or stickered each time you spot Waldo.

Waldo has also misplaced his gold medal in McNally Robinson Booksellers for Kids (Grant Park), so hopefully eagle-eyed hunters can help him find it! Stamp cards with at least one line of four completed squares entitles diligent seekers entry into prize draws throughout July!

How To Play

To start, you’ll need a stamp card with all of the locations where Waldo is hiding. Stamp cards are available wherever Waldo can be found!

Visit as many places on your stamp card as you can and look for Waldo. Once you find him, bring the stamp card to a staff member/volunteer who will mark your card.

Drop off your stamp card at McNally Robinson Booksellers Grant Park or McNally Robinson Booksellers The Forks as soon as you complete a line of four squares and be entered to win prizes throughout the month, including our grand prize draw!

Celebrate your success by taking pictures wherever you find Waldo, and make sure to stop by McNally Robinson Booksellers Grant Park to take a selfie with our life-sized Waldo! Whenever you post your pictures, make sure to use the hashtag #WheresWaldoinWinnipeg

*You can play as a team, but remember that prizes will be given to individual players.*

The scavenger hunt finishes on Wednesday, July 31st, but you’ll have until Tuesday, August 6th to submit your stamp card. Stop by McNally Robinson Booksellers Grant Park (1120 Grant Avenue) or McNally Robinson Booksellers The Forks (213-1 Forks Market Road) to submit your card and enter the prize draw. Visit the cash desk, show your card and fill out your ballots.

Make sure to submit your stamp card by Tuesday, August 6th!
