Let us send you the new releases our booksellers are most excited about each month, along with a few other curated gift items to enhance your reading experience. Simply let us know what genres and topics you’re interested in and the subscription period you would like to sign up for, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Reader Reward Card holders are entitled to a 10% discount on all Bookseller Boxes! You will be emailed a promo code when you sign up for your Reader Reward Card, or you may contact us if you haven't received a code.
Trust Us, We Know Books
The Bookseller Box has been created to surprise adventurous readers with unique, lesser-known titles that are hand-picked by booksellers and customized to your preferences. We can’t promise that you’ll love every book (though we sincerely hope you will!), but we can promise that the books we choose will be thoughtful, imaginative and exciting reads from a wide variety of authors and publishers.
While you can certainly subscribe for one month at a time, we recommend starting with at least three-months to get a true sense of whether or not the books we select are right for you.
Due to the nature of the service, we unfortunately cannot offer refunds or exchanges. We send out recent new releases (in most cases the books are published the month before we send out your Bookseller Box), but on the off chance you already have a copy of the selected book, we encourage you to donate it or give it as a gift.

We firmly believe in a literate society where people read as widely as possible. Reflective of the way we stock our shelves and within all genres and topics, our subscription boxes will include stories from authors with many different backgrounds and identities so we can help share as many voices as possible with our community.
How It Works
To sign up and start receiving your monthly deliveries, simply subscribe to one of the boxes listed above, select the genres and topics you’re interested in (or that the recipient is interested in), and then select your subscription period (i.e. how many months you would like to pay for at a time). Customers can sign up online or by calling the nearest McNally Robinson bookstore.
Subscription boxes are mailed out the first week of each month, and subscriptions for the upcoming month close on the 17th of the previous month. See below for more shipping details.
When sending a Bookseller Box as a gift, you will be able to choose the month the subscription starts and how many months it continues for. You can choose to continue the subscription until you decide to cancel, in which case automatic renewals will be set up as per the terms below, or you may choose the number of shipments you would like to send to the recipient. If you choose the second option, the subscription will be marked as cancelled after you have been billed. This does not mean you have not placed an order, only that the subscription will not renew after the time period you selected.
Please make sure to input the recipient’s address as the shipping address when completing checkout so we know where we are sending their Bookseller Box.
The Bookseller Boxes are available to ship anywhere in Canada, and at this time only within Canada. A flat-rate $5.00 shipping fee applies to all deliveries.
Subscription boxes are mailed out the first week of each month, and subscriptions for the upcoming month close on the 17th of the previous month. If you sign up after that date, your subscription will start the following month. For example, a customer who signs up on September 7 will receive their first delivery in early October, but a customer who signs up on September 21 will receive their first delivery in early November.
As booksellers, our primary goal is to get you the books we're most excited about carrying, and we want to do this as cleanly and simply as possible. To that end, we’ve carefully chosen minimal packaging with eco-friendly, recyclable materials that we hope you can re-use.
Payment & Cancellations
Subscription plans are available with a credit card purchase only. The payment for your first subscription period (one, three, six or twelve months) is charged immediately at the time of checkout and your subscription will automatically renew at the end of that period. You will receive an email a few days before your renewal notifying you of your upcoming payment.
If you’re happy with your plan, you can simply sit back and keep enjoying your monthly deliveries. You can also upgrade your plan through your customer portal for more savings and longer subscription periods.
You are also welcome to cancel your subscription at any point, but please note that your cancellation will come into effect at the end of your subscription period. For example, if you prepay for six months, and then decide to cancel, your subscription will end after the six months you paid for.
Making Changes to Your Subscription Plan
Your customer portal allows you to manage your subscription plan(s). Here, you can update your customization choices (the genres and topics you’re interested in) and pause or change your plan.
Please note that pausing your subscription applies to your full subscription period. If you sign up for a three-month subscription period starting in October and decide to skip that period, your subscription will be paused until January. If you would like to only pause/skip a delivery for a single month within your subscription period, please email us at [email protected].
If you’re enjoying the subscription service and would like to commit to a longer subscription period, simply click "Change Subscription Plan" and choose a new plan. Remember, the longer you sign up for, the more you save!

If the books you’re receiving from us are not quite right, you can change your genre and topic preferences. Simply login to your customer portal here, then look under "Subscriptions" and click "Update Choices". This will give you a chance to update your initial customer service survey.
