The Obsessors Poetry Anthology Virtual Launch

Join The Obsessors writing group for the launch of their poetry anthology Within These Lines. Featuring an introduction from Jennifer Still and Barbara Klar, as well as readings from Belinda Betker, Leanne BoyceGary Chappell, Cindy Clarke, Holly Keeler, Mic LaFreniere, and Bronwen McRae.

Registration is required to directly participate in the Zoom webinar. It will be simultaneously streamed on YouTube and available for viewing thereafter.

Within These Lines is an anthology of poetry by the writing group, The Obsessors. They are a group of seven Saskatoon poets that meet to share their obsession for writing. Since their beginning in 2008, many of their members have been published in literary journals, chapbooks, and online. Three have published first books of poetry. This is the group's first anthology, commemorating their creative years together.

Belinda Betker's poetry collection, Phases was a 2020 finalist for two Saskatchewan Book Awards. She’s also published in various anthologies and literary journals.

Leanne Boyce is a teacher and poet. Having lived in ten cities, four provinces and two continents, she is happy to have landed in Saskatoon.

Gary Chappell is a founding member of The Obsessors, has previously published one book, Full Throttle, and lives in Saskatoon.

Cindy Clarke is a poet living in Saskatoon with her partner, Brian. She recently published her first book of poetry.

Holly Keeler lives in Saskatoon with her husband, Paul and three adult daughters. She has published poems in Spring and The Fieldstone Review.

Mic LaFreniere is a Saskatoon based writer. He is happily retired and writes in the City and at the Lake.

Bronwen McRae can be found writing poems and children’s stories in coffee shops and parks around Saskatoon. She also enjoys playing clarinet with the Saskatoon Community Bands.

Award-winning poet Barbara Klar has mentored and facilitated workshops with the Obsessors many times. She lives in southwest Saskatchewan.
