Launch of Volume: Cooking for a Community.
On Sharon Steward’s family’s grain farm in southern Manitoba, cooking and baking from scratch was an essential part of everyday life. The Culinary Arts program at Red River College was a natural fit. After attaining her Cook’s Red Seal, Sharon earned a Sommelier diploma.
Over the six years that Chef Sharon has served at InterVarsity Pioneer Camp Manitoba, the impact of a healthful, balanced, home-cooked menu on our community has become evident. Volume: Cooking for a Community invites you to cook with and for your own community. With 50 recipes encompassing menus for morning, midday and evening meals that each have measurements for 4-6 people and 80 or more guests, this book is a resource that will benefit many.
Sharon and her husband and their three sons live in southern Manitoba, when they are not living and working at camp on MacKinnon Island in Shoal Lake, Lake of the Woods.
