Launching The Lake in the Clouds -- The Shards of Excalibur 3 (Coteau Books), and joined by guest readers from the Saskatoon Public Library Teen Advisory Council (TAC), performing a Random Act of Poetry.

The third Shard of the sword Excalibur is calling Ariane. From a really, really long way away. In the third instalment of this modern take on Arthurian legends, Ariane – descendant of none other than the Lady of the Lake herself – is on the run and on her own. While trying to sense the next Shard of the broken sword she must reunite, she also has to win back her best friend’s friendship, protect her aunt’s life, figure out Rex Major’s next move – oh, and get to New Zealand and safely back with the Shard whose song is beginning to call her…

Edward Willett is the award-winning author of nearly 50 science-fiction and fantasy, science and other non-fiction books for both young readers and adults. His latest publication Masks (under the name E.C. Blake) received a glowing review in Publishers’ Weekly. Other science fiction novels include Lost in Translation, Terra Insegura, and Marseguro, winner of the 2009 Prix Aurora Award. His non-fiction writing for young readers has received National Science Teachers Association and VOYA awards. Edward was born in New Mexico and grew up in Weyburn. He has lived and worked in Regina since 1988. In addition to his numerous writing projects, he is also a professional actor and singer who has performed in dozens of plays, musicals and operas in and around Saskatchewan, hosted local television programs, and emceed numerous public events.
