A love affair gone cold, the relationship between the arts and the church needs rekindling. Inviting Wonder sparks that romance anew. Offering large canvass reflections, stories from churches reclaiming their relationship with the arts, practical how-tos and questions for reflection, Inviting Wonder speaks to those who want to bring the church and the arts back into together. With warmth and wisdom, barb m. janes calls church communities to embrace hospitality as a spiritual practice, re-imagine the church as public space, and inflame religious imagination through the arts.
barb m. janes has loved words, sounds and stories since kindergarten. Toronto-born, her work as a United Church of Canada minister has taken her to Aboriginal communities, resource towns, suburbia and fetched her up in Winnipeg, where she thrives on the magic and mayhem of Sunday mornings. A frequent guest preacher and workshop leader, barb is an avid magpie of culture high and low.
