In this book, the subject of electricity is explored through a young person with a thirst for knowledge. The heart of the digital information age is seen through the eyes of a young girl named Rachel. This book is a stepping stone for the next generation of all artists, scientists and engineers with passion and imagination! All the information is explained in a non-technical, pragmatic and strongly illustrated fashion, meant to inspire, pose questions and challenge all readers.
The author, Gordon Klimenko, completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to complete a graduate student degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba. The first half of his career was with Lockheed Martin, and he is now Director of R&D Engineering Innovation at IMRIS Inc. He lives in Winnipeg where he loves doing his own home renovations and indulging his enthusiasm for Mopar cars.
The artist, Justin Currie, grew up on a farm outside the small to of La Riviere, Manitoba. His passion for art and drawing led him to further his education in an art-related field, including design and print production. Justin currently resides in Winnipeg, working in a video game studio and contiuing to draw on every scrap of paper he gets a hold of. Visit him online here.
