Thursday, Sep 20, 2007 at 9:50am

Saskatchewan readers will have the chance to vote for their favourite new Saskatchewan book for the inaugural Reader's Choice Award. Sponsored by the Regina Public Library, the book to receive the most votes during the month of September will be awarded the new Readers’ Choice Award. The author of the winning title will receive the award's $2,000 cash prize at the Saskatchewan Book Awards Gala in November.

The book Saskatchewan readers favour will be determined through the ballots they cast between September 4 - 30. Ballots are available at any participating Saskatchewan Public Library or online at www.reginalibrary.ca.

2007 marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Saskatchewan Book Awards recognizing and celebrating excellence in Saskatchewan writing and publishing. The shortlist of books nominated for each of the thirteen categories, including Fiction, Poetry, Children’s Literature, Scholarly and Nonfiction, will be announced at simultaneous News Conferences in Regina and Saskatoon on October 18. The awards will be presented on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Saskatchewan Book Awards Gala to be held at Regina’s Conexus Arts Centre. Tickets and information about all Saskatchewan Book Awards events are available at the awards' website.
