WINNIPEG BY WINNIPEG photography book -- Available now!

Wednesday, Oct 09, 2013 at 8:37pm

Tonight we proudly unveiled our photography book, Winnipeg by Winnipeg: Images of the City by Its Citizens, with a launch in our Grant Park store.

Often when we host a book launch, the book in question has already been released, sometimes for a few days or even several weeks. In the case of Winnipeg by Winnipeg, the book was unveiled for the first time to the public tonight. Our guests, many of whom had their photos included in the book, had their first glimpse of the finished product -- and I can safely say the reception was grand. We had a packed house, and the photographers were all excited to receive their own copies of the book.

We'll be posting some photos of the event to social media in days to come! Stay tuned to our Pinterest account and watch for the photos, or follow for news updates on Twitter and Facebook.

In the meantime, Winnipeg by Winnipeg: Images of the City by Its Citizens is available now for purchase! Find it in both our Grant Park and Saskatoon stores, or buy it right here on our website. Contact your nearest McNally Robinson bookstore to check availability and to have a copy held just for you.

Winnipeg by Winnipeg

Hardcover $13.77

A visual portrait of Winnipeg as seen through the eyes of its citizens, Winnipeg by Winnipeg showcases the icons, the moods, and the neighbourhoods of Manitoba's largest city. This book is a compilation of stellar photographs of Winnipeg by 67 amateur and professional photographers. For those who call Winnipeg their home, for those who wish they could call Winnipeg their home, and for those who have stopped by to visit this fine city, the book captures the real Winnipeg in all its glory. From the beauty of the hoar frost on a crisp winter day to the sheer delight of people skating, walking, or riding our river trails and walkways; from the spectral realities of our backlanes to the seldom-seen misty mornings on Portage Avenue; from the local accessibility of our recreation and sport facilities to the eye-pleasing treasures inside our museums, Winnipeg is ablaze with colour and vitality - its strong sense of community and neighbourhood always evident.
