Self-Published Book of the Month for July: PRIMETIMES by A.J. McCormick

Thursday, Jul 25, 2013 at 4:01pm

For July we're happy to announce that the Self-Published Book of the Month is Primetimes by Amy Julia McCormick.

From the backcover:
This is Scotland in 3010. Country people live simply just as their ancestors did. Young organic farmer Bogart Cunningham has two urges: one saying all is well, the other saying life is anything but, especially when he must cope with the shock of his sister Chioma's sudden death, or worse - the fear he experiences with family and community when an approaching viral outbreak is regarded as a death sentence. It prompts mysterious seductress Louve to entice Bogart to escape with her to a paradisiacal land in the ancient past that Bogart unknowingly governed in his previous life and where he must overcome volatile obstacles that interfere with his conviction to approach his dearest desires courageously - namely pursuing Scota, the beautiful, brave woman he loves - a quest that climaxes with its consequences.

More on Primetimes after the jump...

Released in June, Primetimes was a hot-seller in its first few weeks and has continued to sell regularly ever since. A huge and very successful book launch in our Grant Park store propelled Primetimes onto our bestsellers list, where it remained for two weeks straight -- even taking #1 in Paperback Fiction in the second week! Beyond our Winnipeg location, McCormick has gotten Primetimes on the shelves in a few rural stores (which, she has informed us, have been selling plenty of copies, too), as well as into our sister-store, McNally Jackson, in New York City.

You can find Primetimes in our Prairie Writers and Canadian Teen Novels sections at our Grant Park store, or of course you can secure your own copy right here on our website.

Primetimes was published in-store using our Espresso Book Machine. Click here to learn more about McNally Robinson's Self-Publishing services.
