The Echo Project
Wednesday, Jul 03, 2013 at 6:53pmKhaled Hosseini's new book And The Mountains Echoed was released on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
As part of the book's publication, Penguin has put together a unique project - and they're hoping for your contribution.
The Echo Project (www.EchoProject.ca) went live on the day the book was released. The project is a page-for-page digital exploration of And The Mountains Echoed -- a living, breathing companion filled with original and exclusive contributions by those who have read and loved the book. There will be 402 thought-provoking interpretations -- video, illustrations, quotes, photographs, poems and more -- with one web page for each page of the novel. The interpretations are created by fans, artists, media, booksellers, and even Khaled himself. The idea is to create a "digital tapestry", as it rolls out over the months -- a completely new way for readers to experience a book as engaging and as epic as this one.
To help build the profile of this project, Penguin is asking Canadians to select their own favourite page of the novel, and contribute one of the 402 interpretations in the project. Anyone, so long as they've read the novel, can contribute. To submit your own idea for the project, visit this page.
(With thanks to our own John T. for promoting the project.)
