INTO THE LIGHT is based on David Coverdale's three solo records. The INTO THE LIGHT album was originally released as David Coverdale's 3rd solo album, in September 2000, and was his first solo record in 22 years. Here it's been remixed with extra tracks and presented as a Whitesnake album. With an impressive musical lineup, David is joined on INTO THE LIGHT by guitarists Earl Slick and Doug Bossi, bassist Marco Mendoza, who would later join Whitesnake, legendary drummer Denny Carmassi, who as well as Whitesnake, has played with Montrose and Heart, and Mike Finningan on keyboards, who had previously played with Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s. As well as plenty of unreleased songs and bonus tracks, the set includes "Too Many Tears," a song David wrote with Adrian Vandenberg and originally featured on Whitesnake's RESTLESS HEART album. Also included is "River Song," David's tribute to Jimi Hendrix, and "With All Of My Heart," a song David wrote for his wife, and in his own words, one of top ten songs that he's written. INTO THE LIGHT also features the singles "Slave," "Love Is Blind" and "Don't You Cry." The box set also includes David's first two solo records, whitesnake MCMLXXVII from 1977 and NORTHWINDS from 1978, the two titles he recorded immediately after leaving Deep Purple in 1976, in both remixed, expanded and remastered form.

The new edition was entirely remastered in both stereo and mono by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering. The set features a reproduction of the 1969 7” mono picture sleeve single ‘Honky Tonk Women’/’You Can’t Always Get What You Want.’ That single was first released four months ahead of Let It Bleed, and went to No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic. ‘Honky Tonk Women’ was reprised on the album with a country flavour as ‘Country Honk.’ Three 12” x 12” hand-numbered replica-signed lithographs are also featured, printed on embossed archival paper, as well as a full colour 23” x 23” poster, with restored artwork from the Decca Records package of 1969. The deluxe edition also has an 80-page hardcover book with an essay by music writer David Fricke, who observes in the notes: “No other rock & roll album of the late Sixties so embodied…the contradictions, turbulence of its time, creation and the band…than Let It Bleed.” There are also never-before-seen photos by the Stones’ tour photographer Ethan Russell. Let It Bleed will also be available as a stand-alone CD, vinyl LP, and digitally. Says Ludwig, who has mastered or remastered many other Stones albums: “When we did the first Let It Bleed remaster in 2002, our intention was to pay homage to the original work. When we did this new version, the purpose was to make it as great as it could possibly sound. If you listen on a good set of speakers or good headphones, you’ll hear subtle things in the background that are now much more clear that were somewhat hidden before.” The new edition faithfully reproduces the work of graphic designer Robert Brownjohn, whose original sketches for the Let It Bleed cover depict random round items on the spindle of an antique record player. They included a cake with figurines representing the members of the band. The sketches are on two 12” x 12” lithographs, hand numbered, replica-signed and printed on embossed archival paper. The set is completed by a third lithograph of the final art, without its titles, in a foil-stamped envelope. Brownjohn died less than a year after the album’s release of the album, and his estate has granted ABKCO exclusive use to manufacture his images and signature. The 50th anniversary release also has a reproduction of the full colour, 23” x 23” poster that accompanied Decca’s original 1969 UK release of the album. 2021 marked the tenth anniversary of the theatrical release of Universal Pictures' Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The film adaptation by director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver) of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel series stars Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Kieran Culkin and has since become a cult classic. Now ABKCO, with Edgar Wright and Nigel Godrich's oversight, has curated an expanded, four LP picture disc Seven Evil Exes Edition offering of the soundtrack/score, including more performances by Sex Bob- Omb and demos from Beck, as well as fan-favorite "Black Sheep" by Metric and sung by actress Brie Larson. The set is slated for release on March 26. Each side of each LP features an image of one of the "Seven Evil Exes" from the film, plus an image of Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers on the eighth side. This marks the first time ever that Godrich's score will get a vinyl release, which will also be available separately on a blue vinyl 2-LP set, also on March 26. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World finds Cera's character smitten by Ramona Flowers (Winstead) and having to battle her seven evil exes who are out to kill him. Interwoven into the plot is a plethora of fictitious music groups acting out the performances of original compositions by real recording artists. Under the direction of producer Godrich (Radiohead, Paul McCartney, U2), Beck provided the music for Scott's low-fi garage band Sex Bob-Omb, Canadian synth-rockers Metric did the same for The Clash at Demonhead (fronted by Brie Larson), Broken Social Scene wrote and recorded for Crash and the Boys, and faux DJ duo Katayanagi Twins were brought to life by Cornelius. In some cases, the finished songs incorporate actual vocal and instrumental contributions from the actors who appear in the film. Wright and Godrich worked together for a two-year period, during which they essentially cast ultimate fantasy bands and got non-musician actors to learn their respective instruments with the aid of Chris Murphy from the band Sloan. The original soundtrack, which went to #2 on the Billboard soundtrack chart, also includes songs by Frank Black, Beachwood Sparks, Black Lips, T. Rex, Blood Red Shoes, The Rolling Stones and The Bluetones. Edgar Wright, who in the last decade has written/directed The World's End and Baby Driver and has directed the upcoming psychological thriller Last Night in Soho, waxes nostalgic about the music of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. He commented, "It's been ten years since Scott Pilgrim first made it to the big screen and I think the fact that it's become so enshrined in the consciousness of so many for so long is due, in no small part, to the fact that the action was so music-driven. The Scott Pilgrim soundtrack and the score have played a huge role in making this an enduring phenomenon."
