More information about his life can be found at Wikipedia: died June 29 at the age of 77. Depending who you talk to, he was most well known for one of two things. The first was a long running science fiction series around the Beserkers, a machine race that might well have inspired Star Trek's Borg, which was out to destroy all sentient biological life. The second is a well done series of fictional autobiographies of Dracula, epitomized for many byFred Saberhagen
or at his official website.
