International Tabletop Day 2016
Saturday, Mar 05, 2016 at 4:53pm
McNally Robinson is pleased to host a day of gaming in celebration of the 4th annual International Tabletop Day on Saturday, April 30th!
Starting in the morning and running all day, we'll have tables and chairs set up within the bookstore for casual gaming. We stress the term casual: just drop in any time and play! No need to register, and there are no fees involved. There will be demos provided for you to use — courtesy of F2Z, Blue Orange Games and Iello Games — or you can bring your own games from home. Or you can purchase something new off our shelf and crack it open.
And if that's not enticing enough already, there will also be prizes to give away. We're talking full games here! If you show up and play, you are eligible to enter the draw.

Josef, our board game guru, recently returned from an exhibition of board games. There he had the opportunity to "test drive" some of the latest Euro-style board games that have almost entirely reinvented the board game world.
He came away impressed with Coal Baron, a game in which you are the owner of a coal mine fulfilling contracts for various types of coal. But the orders are very specific about the type of coal they demand. Since each kind is in a different mine level, you must expand your tunnels, and that costs money. It can also cost you the game.
Coal Baron is a game for 2 to 4 players ages 10 & up. Sessions take approximately 60-75 minutes to complete.
