Crime Writer's Association Releases Dagger Shortlists

The CWA's Dagger Awards shortlists are out, and it looks like the Scandinavians have taken the knives to the competition. Of the six finalists for the International Dagger, which celebrates the best spy, thriller, suspense, crime or mystery novel translated into English for U.K. publication, France's Fred Vargas was the only non-scandinavian on the list.

An Interview with Linda L. Richards

Linda L. Richards' first novel featuring drunken private dick Dexter J. Theroux and plucky secretary Kitty Pangborn, Death Was the Other Woman, was one of my favourite novels of 2008. The follow up, Death Was in the Picture will without a doubt find itself in similar company for 2009. Linda was kind enough to agree to a brief email interview to answer some of my questions.
