Reviews

"Having worked with Ms. Roberts for more than 12 years, I know her to be an excellent and inspired clinician. She is now applying those same skills in the development of this thoughtful book, which should be very helpful to her patients and others." -- Derek Ott, MD, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UCLA

"Jamie Roberts hits the mark by skillfully bringing mindful practices to anxiety management. Her message is refreshing as she does not promise a quick fix but instead emphasizes the young person's capacity to build a healthy and positive habit of self-regulation through noticing and responding to their anxiety using any number of the book's easy-to-understand, highly effective strategies. Mindfulness for Teen Anxiety teaches teens to master their own wellness, a true gift that fosters authentic, embodied confidence." -- Suzanne Mata, PsyD, clinical psychologist, trauma specialist, and certified meditation and mindfulness teacher

"By speaking to a teen audience, Roberts addresses mindfulness and anxiety with a cool, playful, yet sophisticated voice. For those who have anxiety, who wouldn't want a safe, comfy way to learn about what is going on? Second, Roberts breaks down her information into chunks, so as not to overwhelm the reader, and she provides creative, diverse, and carefully scaffolded follow-up exercises for each section. The process is inviting and challenging, yet sensitively paced." -- Holli Kenley, MA, LMFT
