Description

What's behind the pickleball craze that's swept across the world? Why does it have such a silly name? How could it be a real sport? Have you seen that weird ball they hit around? "The Heart of Pickleball" was inspired by two women who had the same questions. They quickly learned just how fun and addicting this new sport can be! They asked people how pickleball had touched or changed them, and their incredible stories came pouring in. The authors share these stories along with pertinent pickleball tidbits and helpful tips, including how to throw a pickleball themed party. This collection of heartwarming, funny, and inspiring tales is a perfect feel-good read, whether you're a seasoned pickleball pro or just getting started. Give it as a gift, keep for yourself, or share it with friends.

About this Author

Fran Scharf has been married for almost 40 years to her husband Larry, and they split their time between Redding, Connecticut and Wilmington, North Carolina. They have raised two beautiful children together. In addition to playing pickleball and traveling, they enjoy playing with and watching their grandchildren. Fran always had a knack for helping people, which led her to a 35-year career as a financial advisor. Her passion for personal wellness led her to pickleball, and she hopes that the stories in this book inspire others to try something new and live their best lives.

Eve Hanna was born in upstate New York and has lived in 16 different cities. She and her husband have recently settled outside of Charlotte, North Carolina where they are eagerly awaiting the birth of their first grandchild.
She comes from a musical family and has a great appreciation for the Arts, but her strengths in science and learning led her to pursue a career in medicine. As an MD, she started her practice in Emergency Medicine and transitioned into Occupational Medicine where she found her passion for wellness.
In retirement, she began a new adventure as a book author. She was inspired by pickleball, encouraged by meeting her co-author and knew that "The Heart of Pickleball" was the book that needed to be written. The world of pickleball is filled with incredibly positive and friendly people and she's delighted to share their stories with readers.
