Wild Woman Alphabet
Description
"A bunch of wild women once wandered this land and thought that their dinners had gotten too bland. They set out in search of fine foods they could get and ate up the sounds of the whole alphabet."
Wild Woman's Alphabet is a quirky ABC children's title with Indigenous themes and images in the text and collaged illustrations.
About this Author
Doris Muise grew up with her nose in books or art materials in her hands. That is how she survived being the sixth of twelve children in a sprawling, rambunctious family in rural Newfoundland. She is the proud descendant of Mi'kmaq, French, and Scottish ancestors. She holds a Master of Arts in Art Education from NSCAD University and a Creative Writing Certificate from UT. She has exhibited her art work professionally and her writing has appeared in the Globe and Mail, Toronto. A seasoned teacher, Doris has taught art to people of all ages across Canada. She now lives in a rustic cedar home on traditional Nuxalk territory in Bella Coola, BC. When she is not making art or writing, Doris teaches the wonderful children at Acwsalcta School. In her spare time, she wanders off with her friends and her hefty dog Freida into the tide flats and woods of the Great Bear Rainforest.
