The Light Pours Out of Me examines John's life and legacy, drawing on original interviews with the likes of Siouxsie Sioux, Howard Devoto, Johnny Marr, Billy Idol, John Frusciante, Keith Levene, Jonny Greenwood, Nick Launay, Ed O'Brien, Peter 'Hooky' Hook and many others.

Illustrated with unseen photographs, this moving biography - authorised by the family - celebrates the remarkable guitarist who helped provide the soundtrack to a generation.

Reviews

"Absorbing account of late post-punk guitarist. This is a labour of love, befitting a much-loved man." Classic Rock

"Draws from a frankly miraculous array of interviews with friends, family, roadies, managers, bandmates and collaborators" The Wire

"John McGeoch is one of the great sonic architects of the post-punk era. Just when everyone thought everything had been done with the guitar, he reshaped and remoulded it and invented whole new sounds like Jimi Hendrix had done in the sixties. Whilst Hendrix was rightly venerated, John McGeoch was only known by those that know, so this book that details his life and journey is a key step in finally celebrating his brilliance and putting the spotlight back on his short but creative powerhouse life." John Robb, author of The Art of Darkness
