Description
Trains of Winnipeg is a new hybrid of performed poetry by Clive Holden with music from the acclaimed musicians Christine Fellows as well as Jason Tait and John K. Samson of The Weakerthans. It's part of a multimedia art project including: trainsofwinnipeg.com, which features art film & video, mp3 audio, graphic and animated poetry, audio field recordings, pictures and links relating to trains in Winnipeg and Canada.
About this Author
Clive Holden is a poet, fiction writer, filmmaker, and media artist. He was born in 1959 on Vancouver Island, has lived in Montreal, Winnipeg and Toronto.
Clive is the author of Fury--Fictions & Films, a collection of literary fiction, graphic poetry and "flip book animations" made with film stills. His experimental films have been screened at film festivals, in London, San Francisco, Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver.
Clive was also the poetry columnist for CBC Radio's "Definitely Not the Opera" for three years, and has produced seven spoken word audio CDs, by some of Canada's greatest poets, and a poetry documentary broadcast on CBC Television. In 1999 he produced and narrated "Citizen Poet Becomes Senior Citizen," a 35-minute CBC Radio documentary feature marking Leonard Cohen's 65th birthday.
