About this Author

Laura Knowles has worked in children's publishing for over 15 years. Her love of natural history, words and art have drawn her to write picture books about animals and nature, which have so far been translated into 11 languages. She is the author of several titles, including We Travel So Far, Once Upon a Jungle and It Starts with a Seed, which was awarded the 2017 Margaret Mallett Award for Children's Non-fiction. Laura likes tame animals nearly as much as wild ones, and lives in Surrey, UK, with her partner, their son, an elderly goldfish and one very chatty cat.
