Reviews

"Take a deep dive into the creation, arrangement, and composition of the universe. This book covers a wide range of material, including gravity, the Big Bang, the shape and age of the universe, stars, planetary bodies, black holes, dark matter, and the cosmic calendar. Less-common topics include space-time, gravitational lenses, wormholes, and dark energy. The narrative style is conversational and makes sure to include logical steps and multiple references for readers to follow. Altarriba's early - Space Age design is the book's real strength, however. It visually conveys the information in supereffective ways, promoting interest without ever growing too busy. The pages show great compositional diversity, utilizing illustrations, graphs, diagrams, sidebars, and more.

The next in this exceptional series #myfirstbookofthecosmos by #sheddadkaidsalahferron and @eduardaltarriba is a complete scientific triumph. The perfect introduction to the stars, wormholes, gravity and the order of the universe. A complex topic presented in an easily accessible way for a much younger audience. With bold, vibrant graphics and bite sized snippets of information, this makes for an intriguing read #buttonsbooks @gmcpublications

Engaging snippets and really clear fun illustrations mean this series is the perfect intro to some quite big ideas.

Incredible! Mind-blowing, imagination-stretching stuff!

"A mind expanding and utterly fascinating book. Takes the reader beyond space into the entire universe in a brilliantly accessible way . A perfect book for adults and children to explore together as information and facts astound you. The book has a beautiful lay out; bold, coloured pages with a variety of fonts and captions to capture the eye and break down the text into easy bites . Graphic illustrations accompany every page and provide real 'lightbulb' moments as you read and ponder on the complexities of the universe. Reading and re-reading is key here but, despite the obvious complexity of the topic, the explanations are not only accessible but very entertaining to read. This book certainly goes beyond many I have seen in school under the 'Space' theme. It stretches the understanding and knowledge of the reader and is very enlightening. With sections on black holes , time travel and the lives and deaths of stars, it is packed full of absorbing details. A really captivating and fun way to access a challenging but amazing topic!"

"Making an incredibly complex subject fun and entertaining is an art, and the author's teaching experience shines through in his simple, lively explanations. Pupils with a passion for science - and those that love to ask "Why?" - will lap this up, and can then go back to the first book in the series, My First Book of Quantum Physics."
