Avid traveler Tim Tranchilla has worked as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State for over a decade and spent three years living in Tel Aviv on assignment, during which he visited every nook and cranny of the country and much of the region. A graduate in International Studies from Boston College, for his degree he focused on the Middle East and peace and conflict studies. He also completed an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing at the New School in New York City. He has lived in Mexico, India, Egypt, South Africa and all over the United States and has visited more than 60 countries. He currently lives with his partner in Auckland, New Zealand.
