Pick Up Sticks
About this Item
The old theatre has an honoured tenant. When the stage lights flicker and a breeze lifts from nowhere, Mabel Hackney is paying a ghostly visit. More than 100 years ago, she trod the boards here, in her final performance before the beloved actress and her equally celebrated actor husband, Laurence Irving, perished at sea.
This time, there is not only a play to enjoy but also the real-life jolt of a shocking death that must be murder. In those turbulent waters, relentless Detective Steve Ascot and plucky partner, Penny, race to solve the drama thatís happening offstage.
Pick Up Sticks builds on the adventures of the husband-and-wife team, in the brisk and energetic style Maureen Flynn has made her own.
