Denise is a freelance food writer and cooking instructor with a Grand Dipl�me from Le Cordon Bleu, Ottawa. Her first cookbook, British Columbia From Scratch, is a culinary bear hug to her native home. With a weakness for pies and dachshunds, and a penchant for early morning hikes, Denise enjoys life in Victoria, BC with her husband and twin daughters.

Deb Garlick (artist and photographer)
Deb is a painter, illustrator, photo stylist and photographer in Victoria, BC. Her art has appeared on book covers, in collaborative projects and part of private collections internationally. When she's not working, she spends her time traveling, running, reading or in the bath. Her home and patio garden, on the top floor of a big, old mansion, on a hill with a view, is a whole creative world.
