WHAT IS A PRINT ON DEMAND BOOK?

A Print On Demand (POD) book is, as the name implies, printed by the publisher on demand, meaning the books are made to order for the customer.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Due to the nature of POD books, they are non-returnable to the publisher. Therefore we require a non-refundable deposit in the amount of 50% of the cost of the book before we submit the order to the publisher. This deposit is then applied toward the final cost of the book once it arrives. All Print On Demand books are final sale.

We should also note that due to the nature of print on demand titles, the quality of the book can differ from that of a regular book, in that sometimes in the event of older material it can appear like a scan or photocopy, or occasionally have an unappealing design, layout, or typeface.

Once the POD book is ordered it typically takes about 2-3 weeks to receive your copy at the store, at which point we would charge your credit card for the balance owing (minus the deposit already charged) and, depending on which option you chose at checkout, contact you regarding shipping or to let you know the order is ready for pick-up.

By adding a Print On Demand title to your cart and completing the checkout process, you agree to our terms and conditions.

If you have any questions about Print On Demand books, please contact your nearest McNally Robinson bookstore.

*Note: These terms and conditions do not apply to Print-On-Demand titles that are currently in stock at one of our bookstores.

Description

Primal poetry with a pagan heart, Warp and Weft by Debbie Strange weaves tanka into short threads of three each, each triptych building into a larger sequence that tells the story of a poet with a raven's eye. Traversing the wilderness of the human heart, Strange's map is written with quills upon clouds. Each triptych is an incantation to accompany the moments of life and impregnate them with the fecund power of darkness. She is comfortable with night, with ravens, ashes, soil, pain, and the welling blood of an injured heart. But for all the ghosts that glide through her lines, the wind always rises upwards to become clouds and stars.

"Warp and Weft is Debbie Strange's Leaves of Grass. We have an amazing poet living amongst us. Let us sing her praises."-Alexis Rotella, author of Lip Prints, a Tanka Collection and Between Waves, haiku
