Description

At the top of a cliff stands a city. White stone walls gleam in the sun, and banners snap lazily in the breeze. This is the Citadel, home of fates and possibilities, host to remarkable people whose own stories provide an insight into the nature of humanity itself...

From best-selling author and illustrator Fez Inkwright comes The Citadel, a fresh take on oracle decks that is seeped in the magic of fantasy literature, Tolkien's Middle Earth, and tabletop gaming - a truly unique combination of storytelling and cartomancy!

Each of the 60 cards in this deck represents a person living within the Citadel. The guidebook describes different scenes that the reader will encounter while travelling through the city, including the stories of each character and the interpretation of each card.

Beyond cartomancy, The Citadel can supplement tabletop role-play games, generating new worlds, characters, and encounters for fantasy gameplay.

Reviews

"To work with The Citadel is to walk within a parallel world, a fantastical landscape etched with beauty, intrigue and, at times, shadow. While the voice of each card might seem otherworldly, to begin with, their whispers are recognisable. The Citadel is a practical tool for the everyday reader, highlighting situations and personalities we can all relate to, but it is also a gateway to the subconscious realms, encouraging the reader to discover aspects of their inner-self and what lies beneath the surface."  --Steven Bright, author of Tarot: Your Personal Guide, The Oracle Creator and Tarot Shapeshifter

"The Citadel Oracle is an ideal deck for both diviners and players alike! The keywords on the beautifully designed cards are expansive and easy to read- bringing intuition and substance to any spread. The world-building and tabletop game aspects also shine through with well-thought-out concepts and unique gameplay ideas! Then, it's all topped off with a chunky guidebook, durable card stock, and a sturdy box. It's a surefire 10/10!"  --Dani Mystic, Tarot Reader

"The Citadel is a fantastic love letter to the genre and a wonderful tool for anyone who dreams of telling fantasy stories in any format." --Mark Hulmes (Writer, Dungeon Master for High RollersDnD)

"This is a 60-card archetype oracle deck that you could really do a lot with in terms of tabletop gaming (...) Inkwright's art style is totally up my alley. I love the detailing. I love the balance of dark and light." --Benebell Wen, author of Holistic Tarot, The Tao of Craft, I Ching: The Oracle, and illustrator of the Spirit Keeper's Tarot

"This deck reminded me that humans have archetypes to learn from for a reason. It's become a fast friend. You don't have to be a gamer to work with this lovely beastie. I promise." --Indie Deck Review
