HELAINE BECKER is an award-winning writer of trade books for children, educational materials and feature articles. WERNER ZIMMERMANN is the illustrator of numerous books, including the Farmer Joe series, A Porcupine in a Pine Tree, Dashing Through the Snow, and Deck the Halls. He is the author and illustrator of Snow Day!, a Canadian classic, celebrating every child's favourite day! He has been nominated twice for the Governor General's Literary Award for Illustration, and he and Jean Little won the Mr. Christie's Award for Pippin the Christmas Pig. Werner lives in Guelph, Ontario.
