Join Ryan as he follows his hockey hero, Wayne Gretzky, down the path to his first Stanley Cup victory.
Ryan loves to play hockey, but he often gets pushed around on the ice because he's small for his age. Ryan has always followed the Edmonton Oilers, and his hero is (of course!) Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky is small too, but he knows how to skate and he knows how to score. Gretzky's great play is helping to get the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Finals. Inspired by Gretzky's example, Ryan learns that hard work and determination can help you overcome almost any obtacle.

Mike Leonetti has written numerous books for both children and adults about the good ol' hockey game. His current picture book series with Scholastic is about hockey heroes and includes titles such as Wendel and The Great One, The Rocket, and The Mighty Tim Horton. A lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan, Mike lives in Woodbridge, Ontario, with his wife and son.
As an illustrator, Greg Banning has worked on advertisements, video games, and a wide variety of publications. Greg has illustrated several of Mike Leonetti's hockey books, including Wendel and The Great One, The Rocket and The Mighty Tim Horton. Greg lives in Stittsville, Ontario.
