Two Minutes for Talking to Myself

Description
Two Minutes for Talking to Myself is a series of stories about hockey and broadcasting. The primary focus is on the 17 years of the original NHL Jets, and the characters who called Winnipeg home for much of that time. People like John Ferguson, Dale Hawerchuk, Thomas Steen, Dave Babych, Teemu Selanne, Keith Tkachuk, and “Friar” Nicolson. The book takes us from the high times of the mid-eighties, to the heartbreak of the mid-nineties, when the team left the love of Winnipeg for the indifference of Arizona.
The author provides a view from the press box, where you learn to expect the unexpected. (It’s never a good idea to sign off before the game is over.) Throw in a liberal sprinkling of opinion, and you have the ingredients of a good read. Every story is self- contained and short. You can open the book on any page.
Curt Keilback was born to be a broadcaster. He did his first play-by-play at the age of eleven, and by the time he was thirteen he had his own weekly radio show. In his career he called over 2400 NHL games. Curt was born in Brandon, Manitoba, raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and makes his home in Winnipeg.
