About this Author
Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) was the pen-name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. He was a mathematics tutor at Christ Church College, Oxford, where he met Alice Liddell, daughter of the dean, and inspiration for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The book and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, have delighted children all over the world for 160 years.
Sir John Tenniel, (1820-1914) was already a renowned cartoonist when he was invited to produce illustrations for Alice. His exquisite engravings are among the most iconic and best loved images in the world.
Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) was a prominent British illustrator of many classic children's books. His best-known works include Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, Rip Van Winkle, and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm.
Mabel Lucie Attwell (1879-1964) was a British illustrator and comics artist. She was known for her cute, nostalgic drawings of children. Her drawings are featured on many postcards, advertisements, posters, books, and figurines.
