About this Author
Mailyne K. Briggs was born in Opon, Sugbu, Philippines, where much of her family still lives today. She was adopted by her Tita (aka Mommy Lina) at age four and raised in so called Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Since she was little, Mailyne has been writing, drawing, and being artistic in every way, and she has no intention of stopping as an adult. She's passionate about taking care of the planet, and loves spending time with her family.
This is her first children's book. She created it because she wanted her child to be able to learn Binisaya (also known as Cebuano) in a fun way. Historically, Binisaya, like other Filipino languages, is passed down orally. It's important to remember these translations have been made with the help of two different generations in her family, and may be different from others.
