About this Author
Valerie Wilding loves writing for children because it makes her happy, and she can't imagine doing anything else. She was a teacher for many years, then a school librarian, but writing took over and that's how she spends her days. It's the most challenging and the most satisfying work she's ever done. Valerie writes fiction and non-fiction and especially enjoys narrative non-fiction, where lots of information is wrapped up in an exciting story. She has written over a hundred books, on all sorts of subjects, and she likes to bring a touch of humour to everything she does.
Åsa Gilland is a Swedish illustrator who loves all things retro, quirky imagery, and folk art themes. She studied interior design at Accademia Italiana Moda and has twenty years of experience in illustration. She illustrated Kingfisher's This is Our World and We Are All Different.
