Magic at the Museum

It is Anne's birthday. Her mother takes her to a museum and gives her a necklace. Anne does not want to look at the paintings in the quiet gallery; she wants her cake. She falls asleep and encounters the best birthday party of all. Author Jane Heinrichs studied in a museum that looks exactly like this one. The Courtauld Institute of Art was her home when she spent a year studying art history in London, England. She loved to walk through the gallery and imagine that the paintings were her friends. Jane worked as an illustrator for archeological digs, drawing ancient Roman artifacts discovered in North Africa. Her interest in art and history has spilled over into her stories and paintings. She loves early morning sunrises, pencils, and sheets of pure white paper.
