
How The Petitcodiac Became Muddy

This Mi’kmaq legend explains it its own way some dot he mysteries surrounding the Petitcodiac River. In the past, the river was crystal-clear and full of fish. A giant eel was attracted by such abundant food. She rushed into the river, causing rampage along its shores. Asked for help, Glooscap offered to give great powers to anyone who would fight the monster. The only one who volunteered was a small lobster.
