Mikey was adopted at the age of eleven weeks and soon found himself overwhelmed by life's events. His older sibling Misha treated him as pond scum and every day seemed to bring yet another mystifying problem. He turned instead to his sidekick Simon, slightly older but only moderately more informed, to help him solve the many meanings of life.

Five-year-old Simon walks with a happy bounce in his step and has a kitten-like approach to life. He is exceptionally interactive with the other cats at Government House, with his humans, and with animals he meets on his walks with Lei Lei and the Lieutenant Governor. These qualities made him the perfect feline to respond to the missives of young Mikey.
