Ken was born in Winnipeg Manitoba. He completed his flying training in Brandon Manitoba, graduated, and then received his wings and pilot's license in 1967. His flying career has taken him to various locations in Canada's North. Ken has documented his flying adventures, in both prose and poetry. He receives great support from his friends and pilots who have been part of this journey. After 12 years of research, and documentation Ken has completed his first book. Bush Pilot's Mayday is a true life adventure based on the logbook entries and the recollections of fellow pilots. Ken flew a Cessna for 17 years into various places in Northwestern Canada, the Yukon, and Northwest Territories. His aircraft was equipped with a minimum of radio gear and all his navigation was done with the map and compass. Outdoor enthusiasts and adventure lovers will be fascinated by this tale. This is Ken's first book of three featuring journeys far inside the Arctic Circle, also the recovery and repair of his aircraft found upside down on a beach in northern Alberta. Along the way, readers will be treated to a wonderful cornucopia of diverse people, pristine lakes, rugged mountains and wild lie only found in the north. The Inuit men and women of the north inhabit the most hostile but beautiful parts of Canada.
