Art & Style of Steampunk
- Marianne Jonasson X36619
In literature, steampunk combines aspects of speculative fiction and alternate history, set in a time when steam power was widely used—often Victorian-era Britain. In art, these elements are re-imagined and brought to life. Victorian artwork and fashions, as well as out-of-their-time complex contraptions such as the time machine H. G. Wells wrote of serve as inspiration for the genre aesthetic.
Create your own Steampunk art using various marker, paint, and India ink techniques. While the focus of this class will be on developing artistic skills, the students will have the option of creating their own graphic novel.
Ages 12 – 16.
August 20th through 24th Monday to Friday (X36618)
