Bone by Jeff Smith is a series of graphic novels for intermediate readers. Told in nine volumes, this humorous tale of adventure has received several awards and was named one of the ten best graphic novels ever written by Time magazine. Inspired by comic strips, Smith’s caricature illustrations are simplistic yet expressive.
In this class, young cartoonists will learn essential drawing techniques for black and white as well as colour cartoons. While the focus of this class will be on developing artistic skills, the students will have the option of creating their own graphic novel.
