Earth is a war-torn wasteland. Attempting to rebuild civilization, the United Commonwealth has developed The Testing, a program that will select the best and brightest people to become Earth's future leaders. Those who pass the tests will be sent to university with the promise of a better tomorrow. Cia Vale is one of few chosen for this opportunity. Before she leaves, Cia's father gives her one piece of advice: Trust no one.
The narrative is intense and fast paced. I rate it 8/10 for its surprising story twists. Perfect for fans of The Hunger Games.

Abby Barnes is a high school senior with a plan - graduate with honors, get into Northwestern's amazing journalism program and land a job at a national newspaper by the time she is 22. But everything changed with one little choice. Everything Abby knew about herself turned inside out and she quickly discovered that there is a parallel universe out there where every decision made affects her life.
While I enjoyed the book and the idea that our path may change but our destiny will not, I found it hard to follow. The plot jumps and 's explanation of the "science" behind the parallel universes was often hard to focus on and understand. I give Parallel only one thumb up.

On April 21, 2008, Steven "Crash" Crashinsky saved more than a thousand people when he stopped his classmate David Burnett from taking their high school hostage armed with assault weapons and high-powered explosives. You likely already know what came after for Crash: the notoriety, the college recruitment, and the book deal. What you might not know is what came before: a story of two teens who were destined, some say, to meet. And what you definitely don't know are the words that Burn whispered to Crash right as the siege was ending, a secret that Crash has never revealed.
Crash and Burn is a really good book. It tells about someone going through a struggle and losing someone he loves. Once you get into this book, you won't want to put it down. It's just one of those books.
Some people may find it confusing though because it starts off when Crash is older looking back at when he was younger, but you will get it by the end of the book.
I rate this book a 7/10 and I recommend this book to other teenagers.

When We Wake is a suspenseful novel. If you like dystopian fiction, then you will probably like this. I thought it was a pretty good book. I would give it a 7 out of 10.
