Karleen Bradford was born in Toronto, Ontario. She spent the first nine years of her life there. When she was nine her parents moved to Argentina. She came back to Canada to go to University, where she met her husband Jim. After graduation, Jim took a position as a Foreign Service Officer with the Canadian Government.
