The CBC is reporting that Margaret Atwood has spoken forcefully against the Harper Government's cuts to arts funding. Speaking with CBC radio prior to the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival in Montreal, she said:
"They basically just hate us... you know itís people who have never seen any arts in their own lives ó they would rather not have gardens, they would rather have parking lots. They just think itís a frill probably."
