After the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC, his adopted son Gaius Octavius ​​decided to return to Rome. Through his political ambitions, he had built up a good reputation and in 27 BC he received the right to speak first in the Senate. In Augustus, the players represent Augustus in the provinces and must build the provinces economically and politically, fulfilling objective cards in order to receive credit for doing this. Players draw mobilization tokens from a bag, and if these tokens are present on their objective cards, they can place a legion on a corresponding field shown on one of their target cards. Fill all of these fields with legions, and the objective card is complete, with the player receiving a bonus and drawing a new objective card. Whoever first completes seven objective cards becomes Consul at the side of Emperor Augustus, dispatching all other players to farthest provinces in the Empire where they must live on berries and drink river water.

The game is about placing settlement tiles into the princedom. Every tile has a function that starts when the tile is placed. The princedom itself consists of several regions, each of which demands its own settlement tile. The core game mechanism involves two dice. The pips show the kind of action the players are allowed to do (example: roll a 2 and a 5: using the 2 the player buys a watch tower and places it on a 5 city tile which triggers the function of the tower with additional advantages). It is also possible to influence the dice, so the player is not completely subject to luck.

Jeu Expedition Northwest Passage

In 1845, Sir John Franklin led an expedition on behalf of the British Royal Navy to find and explore the last portion of the Northwest Passage, regardless of the cost. The Royal Navy gave Franklin two heavy Ships (HMS Terror and HMS Erebus) filled with scientific equipment, 1000 books, a crew of 128 men, and enough food to last for three years. They left England in May and encountered whalers along the west coast of Greenland in August. There, they waited for more favorable weather conditions for the crossing of the Lancaster Sound. Once the weather improved, they sailed into unknown waters, and no one ever heard from them again... Their disappearance provoked a great deal of turmoil in public opinion, and numerous British and American expeditions attempted to find their trail. As leaders of these expeditions in Expedition: Northwest Passage, players must venture into these hazardous Arctic waters in order to discover Franklin's fate and succeed where he failed – by finding the Northwest Passage. Players allocate their crewmen in their ship or in their sled to perform various actions such as exploring, moving, or gathering clues on the whereabouts of the Franklin expedition. As the game progresses, the seasons will pass and parts of the sea will be frozen, blocking the way for the ships. Players acquire victory points by gathering clues, mapping the area, and – of course – discovering the Northwest Passage. However, in order to claim victory, one has to come back home to the Greenland on time!
