Heather Milne and Rachel Zolf -- Double Launch
Tuesday Mar 16 2010 8:00 pm, Winnipeg, Prairie Ink Restaurant Grant Park

Prismatic Publics and Neighbour Procedure (Coach House)

Prismatic Publics: Innovative Canadian Women’s Poetry and Poetics contains selections dating back to the early 1970s while others appear in print for the first time. The fifteen women in this anthology are some of the best writers currently engaged in avant-garde literary production, defining the contours of new movements and schools of writing.

Neighbour Procedure follows up Zolf’s Trillium Award-winning Human Resources and is a virtuoso polyvocal correspondence with the daily news, ancient scripture and contemporary theory that puts the ongoing conflict in Israel/Palestine firmly in the crosshairs.

Rachel Zolf is a poet and editor from Toronto who is presently living in New York. She is the author of several books of poetry and her work is included in Prismatic Publics.

Heather Milne is an assistant professor in the English Department at the University of Winnipeg and is currently working on a book-length study of 21st-century innovative North American feminist poetics. Milne is co-editor with Kate Eichhorn of Prismatic Publics.

The night will also feature a reading from Winnipeg poet Colin Smith, who will channel poets Dorothy Lusk and Catriona Strang from Prismatic Publics.
