Join Patricia Storms for an entertaining reading of her picture book, The Pirate and the Penguin in an event for kids aged 4 and up.

Loosely based on the classic story of The Prince and the Pauper, The Pirate and the Penguin puts a humorous, modern spin on a familiar tale.

Penguin is not your typical Antarctic bird and Pirate is not your average swashbuckling buccaneer. It seems appropriate, then, that author-illustrator Patricia Storms is going to present this picture book in an altogether atypical manner!

Dressed from head to toe as Pirate and Penguin, Patricia and her husband Guy will act out — not just read — the story. At the end of the skit, Patricia will give a short pirate and penguin drawing demonstration. Kids will then be invited to participate in the “Are you a pirate or penguin?” poll and pose for a photo with Patricia and Guy!

Patricia Storms is a freelance cartoonist and illustrator who delights in entertaining readers of all ages. She lives and creates in Toronto with her husband and two fat cats in a 92-year-old house that’s full to the brim with books.
