Judith Wright--Book Launch (Reading and Signing)

Sunday Oct 29 2017 2:00 pm, Saskatoon, Travel Alcove

Join Saskatoon writer Judith Wright for the launch of Dog-wise: What We Learn from Dogs.

What do we learn from living and working with a dog? Dog-wise posits that if dogs make us more human, as some people suggest, then what particular dogs have to reach us is worth understanding. Based on conversations with Saskatchewan dog-owners and professional handlers, Dog-wise shares the secret of living happily with a dog, learning more about ourselves, and applying those lessons to everyday life. In Dog-wise, we meet a range of canines and share their stories—from show, detection, and assistant dogs, to search and rescue, guardian and sled dogs. We follow herding dogs at work, prepare a dog-team for sledding, and sit in on a therapy dog session.

Judith Wright is a Saskatoon writer whose non-fiction stories have appeared in Prairies North Magazine, The Gardener, Western Producer and Harrowsmith. She is interested in ordinary wisdom—how insight from everyday experience informs the way the wider world is viewed.
