Launch of Coming Home.

Sarah Foster returns to the farm to take care of her father after receiving a letter that says he is very sick. As her father’s condition worsens, Sarah feels torn between her worry for him and her guilt for wanting a different life.

Sarah feels even more conflicted when she develops feelings for her childhood friend, Danny. He’s just the distraction she needs, but as their relationship progresses, Sarah’s fear of commitment grows too. As she begins her venture into adulthood, Sarah wonders if she’s more like her estranged mother than she thought.

Emily Janssens is working to complete a joint degree in communications between The University of Winnipeg and Red River College. Emily grew up in Deloraine, MB, and it’s her connection to rural life that inspired this novella. Coming Home is her first published piece of fiction. She currently lives in Winnipeg.
