Örjan Sandred is a Swedish composer and is, since 2005, an Associate Professor in Composition at the University of Manitoba. During his time at the university he has established Studio FLAT, a studio for computer music production and research. Before coming to Winnipeg, Sandred taught composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm for 7 years.
Sandred’s music is performed in many countries over the world. Upcoming concerts include a performance of “Amanzule Voices” for cello and live electronics at Tage Neuer Musik in Weimar in November, Germany and the premiere of “At the Floe Edge” for oboe, 2 bass drums and live electronics in Paris, France in 2013.
