Speaking & Signing All These Years: A Remarkable True Story of Love, Devotion and Courage.
What do you say to your son who “thought he had the perfect family”? To the other who, “thought he was getting a puppy” when their father tells them he is gay? How do you make sense of your husband’s suggestions for an open marriage? How do you keep it all together, when you are secretly falling apart? This remarkable true story chronicles a relationship spanning over thirty years and follows Carol Murray through her years as a teenager, to wife, to mother, and to the day that changes her life forever. The day out of which a new life is forced to begin. It’s a story of determination and commitment to family, and of coming to terms with our lives and finding courage in those we love.
Born in Sacramento, Carol K Murray moved to Winnipeg in 1970, where she married and had two sons. The owner of two craft shops, she was a regular guest on the television show Archie and His Friends, starring the late Bob Swartz. Murray demonstrated children’s crafts for five years before joining Joey Gregorash on S’kiddle Bits after Bob’s retirement. Murray and her family moved out west to British Columbia in 1996, where she separated from her husband, Mark, a few years later, but maintained a close relationship. Murray resides in North Vancouver where she enjoys hiking, camping & kayaking with her partner, Carter, and their Golden Retriever, Jason.
