The Book of Stanley is the third novel by Edmonton author . His previous novel, The Garneau Block, was longlisted for the Giller Prize, won the City of Edmonton Book Prize and is shortlisted for the upcoming Alberta Book Award for best novel.
Todd Babiak, recently voted "Lord Mayor of Old Strathcona" (!), is in his own words, "a mediocre snowboarder and ultimate frisbee player." He will be appearing at our Calgary store on Thursday, September 6th, to read from his new book.

is a retired lawyer and legal academic, whose recent title, Lawyers Gone Bad: Money, Sex and Madness in Canada’s Legal Profession, has, to say the least, generated some controversy among his former colleagues in the profession. He will be appearing at our Grant Park store, on Tuesday, September 25th, for a discussion of his book and the surrounding issues. Come lend your opinions.

Penguin UK has recently launched a promotion whereby they sell classic titles - with blank covers. Readers are then encouraged to create their own covers and submit them back to Penguin. Some in the gallery are actually not bad. This one's my favourite....
